A Weekend in Bath

A weekend in Bath has been on my wish-list for some time and even made it’s way onto my 2016 Vision Board. My amazing husband booked 2 nights away as a gift for our Wedding Anniversary and so I began planning our upcoming trip. We visited in mid-October and were blessed with beautiful blue skies and warm, autumnal sunshine.

Rest and Sleep

AirBnb has very quickly become my favourite place to find accommodation. We stayed in a beautiful apartment on Great South Pulteney Street – The Printers Pad. Within a 5 minute walk of the city centre, this was the perfect base for our weekend of exploring. It was really tastefully decorated, well equipped and spacious enough for 4 of us.

See and Do

Wander around the grounds of The Rec and imagine the atmosphere on a game day.

Stroll along the River Avon.

Explore Victoria Park and the Botanical Gardens.

Walk around the Royal Crescent.

Admire the beautiful architecture of Bath Abbey and climb the 212 steps of the tower.

Visit the Roman Baths and immerse yourself in steeped history.

Watch the sunset from Alexander Park.

Enjoy beautiful views of the city on the Bath Skyline walk.

Eat and Drink

Feast on amazing Thai food at Thaikhun, Little Southgate.

Drink specialty coffee at Colonna and Small’s, Chapel Row.

Lunch on delicious, generously filled bagels from the Whole Bagel, Upper Borough Walls.

While away an evening, eating great food and listening to live jazz, at Green Park Brasserie.

We had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful, city with it’s quintessentially British charm. I fell in love the moment we drove down the rolling hills into the bowl of the city and would highly recommend a visit to one of the most stunning cities in England.
